Mission Codename Decadence

The Palmes d’Or Rosé Intense is SOLD OUT as anticipated, sorry.

To keep the bubbles rolling… how about some Palmer Vintage Champagne… when only the best will do!

Robb Report announced with fanfare in 2018 that “A Champagne Favorite Finally Comes to the US” stating that “US devotees of the world’s bar-setting sparkling wine are in luck, as one Champagne producer is about to become much more available on this side of the pond” adding that this 2009 “nails the challenging balance of power and finesse, palate weight and freshness. The blend of 50 percent Chardonnay and 50 percent Pinot Noir yields a savory edge on the nose, with complex brioche aromas, giving way to beautiful citrus and delicate red berries lingering on an indulgently long finish.”

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate praises Palmer too as *“one of Champagne’s best quality-focused cooperatives” thanks to their dedication and devotion to only put the greatest wine possible under their label into the bottle.

So, dear Operatives, when you throw in all that greatness and take a whopping 44% off the release price – that’s a hefty 50 bucks in your pocket – all you need is to…

Stay calmer, and drink more Palmer!

96 Points – Wine Review Online

“When I heard that Champagne Palmer was showing its 2009, I expected a softer Champagne, ready to drink, as 2009 was a warm vintage throughout France, including the Champagne region. But Champagne Palmer’s 2009 is unlike almost any other Champagnes from this vintage; it is youthful, very dry, and even a touch austere, with good acidity. Chalk it up to good vineyards, and earlier picking. This is an exceptional 2009, showing great aging potential. A tribute to the team at Champagne Palmer.”

93 Points – Wine Spectator

“Toasty, featuring grilled nut and coffee notes, layered with baked peach and lemon curd flavors. A rich style, with a raw silk–like texture to the mousse and firm acidity providing fine structure and freshness. Smoke and spice accents play on the creamy finish. 100 cases imported. Drink now through 2029.”

93 Points – Jeb Dunnuck

“The 2009 Champagne Brut Vintage is terrific, with a vibrant, rich mousse as well as loads of stone fruits, white flowers, toasted almonds, and chalky minerality. Medium to full-bodied and textured, with racy acidity and ample concentration, it’s a serious, age-worthy Champagne that will be even better in another year or two and keep for 10-15. Drink 2022-2037.”
