Mission Codename Nuts
“I was very impressed with the wines I tasted from Vinoce.” - Vinous
Just had to double-check if this was as good as I remembered, and YUP IT IS. MASSIVELY over-delivers at our price.
It might be 7:30 am but it’s Monday, everyone is still out of the office, and I’m making absolutely sure you’re getting some rock-solid juice. So yes, there IS wine in this coffee cup. And no, I don’t know what happened to all those chocolate covered caramel popcorn balls that were in the kitchen.
We LOVE these types of offers. Vinoce is a smaller producer with a long history of making terrific wines. It’s the kind you won’t find on your supermarket shelf. You’d have to come to Napa and visit their estate, or their new downtown tasting room to find a bottle. And even then, you definitely won’t find it at over HALF OFF.
Brian and Lori Nuss founded both Vinoce and its sister project Twenty Rows in the mid-1990s. They snagged a small parcel on the northernmost side of Mount Veeder. Along the way, they worked closely with Robert Craig, who knows a few things about how to coax the best mountain fruit from rugged terrain. Brain also worked closely with winemakers Rudy Zuidema, Chad Alexander, and Keith Emerson to perfect the winemaking craft at Vinoce. Oh, Emerson is a name you may know from Emerson Brown, Vineyard 29, Melka, Robert Craig, Martin Ray…
The vineyard? It’s undisclosed, so we’re thinking some nondisclosures were involved. It IS northern St. Helena after all, spotted with drool-inducing names all over the place such as AXR, Morlet, Rombauer, Vineyard 29…
They rubbed shoulders with the right people because the results speak for themselves. This is young but powerful, sexy, plush, LONG Cabernet just how you like it. Ripe and round, with a seamless, mouthcoating texture. Loaded with electric blackberry, blackcurrant, plum jam, dark cherry, sweet tobacco, toasty oak, and baking spices that all carry into a finish that won’t quit. It’s everything you want, and nothing you don’t. Drinking so nicely today but will last many moons in your cellar.
Sub-$30 Napa Cab at this level?!
Is there such a thing as having too much Napa Cab? No. There isn’t.
