Mission Codename Justice is served
We’re dumbfounded to have yet another never-discounted, hard-to-find, high-scoring Napa Cabernet for you. This time by Philippe Melka & Co., as the final stop of our whirlwind tour…
Today, as you know, has been for the collectors or anyone who wants the very best that Napa has to offer.
We’ve been scouring the promised land, begging, pleading, cajoling our way into a stockpile of vinous treasures, and today, finally, we were ready to let ‘em loose. We rolled out multiple incredible features one after another until sold out.
Here’s another, made by a powerhouse trio: Phillipe Melka in charge with Maayan Koschitzky and Matt Sands under his wings, this big bruiser delivers all the intensity and seriousness you want in top-shelf Napa Cab. Sourced primarily from Oakville’s best-known vineyards - Beckstoffer To Kalon & Dr. Crane, with a sprinkling of fruit from St. Helena, Rutherford, and Coombsville. Dunnuck described it as “sweetly fruited, front-end-loaded… a sexy beast” and we have to agree. Instant pleasure from the moment you pop the cork. Bursting with power, it’s exotic and satisfying with everything you want in a modern-styled Cab.
Called a “terrific value” by Jeb, this has it all - except the triple-digit price.
We’re still in disbelief. Wish we had more of this… just a few cases till it’s gone, again!
94 Points – Jeb Dunnuck
“A terrific value, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Jurisdiction checks in as 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc that spent 20 months in 62% new French oak. As with the Jurisprudence release, this comes from throughout the valley, with fruit mostly from Oakville, yet smaller amounts from St. Helena, Rutherford, and Coombsville. It’s one of the more sweetly fruited, front-end-loaded wines in the lineup and boasts a dense purple color as well as loads of red and black currant fruits, notes of baking spices, new leather, and spiced meats, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s a sexy beast of a Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. Drink 2021-2036.”
