Mission Codename Clandestiny
We had NO idea how popular these CLASSIFIED deals could get. Itâs not easy to find them, but hereâs another clandestine mind-melter youâll love!
If youâre new here, allow us to explain whatâs going down. Seasoned Ops can scroll halfway down for the cluesâŚ
Classified offers must remain nameless for reasons that will become clear, these wines are so good, so in demand, and so exclusive that they must remain hidden behind a cloak of secrecy.
You rarely ever see these wines out there, let alone discounted. And because some wineries are so price-sensitive, their mailing list members would go ballistic seeing a deep deal on it.

We go full redaction â CLASSIFIED - Ăźber-top-secret under the moonless black night with it. Plausible deniability is the game. Such secrecy is needed if we continue to bring you these offers.
Ready, Sherlock?
Put your detective skills to the test once again. This time in pursuit of one of Napaâs most enchanting wines. Or you can just put your order in, kick back, and let that sense of enchantment and wonder blossom. Then when it lands on your doorstep, tear open the box and stare in wonder at the treasure you scored here.
We can drop a few breadcrumbs. And the most intrepid Ops might piece together the clues to figure it out - but donât bother DMâing us on the âgram - our lips are sealed.
First, the retail price is $175. Weâd have been happy with 50 bucks off, at say $125, but nooo, that was not enough now, was it? This one rolled down all the way to a SENSELESS low (for this bottle) $99.
The winemaker?! âChris Phelps is a terroir-driven perfectionist/scientist focused on making high-end ($100+) Cabs from a specific and illustrious plot of grapes within Napa Valleyâ according to Forbes. So how can you get a taste of his genius staying under $100? By being an Operative!
âI first met Chris in the 1980s, when he was working for Christian Moueix at Dominus. He certainly has an impressive resume.â says Robert Parker, which includes Château PĂŠtrus, Caymus, Inglenook to name some. The man knows what it takes to make compelling wine.
The secret vineyard? Donât even try to get that name out of us. The mountain of NDA papers prevents it. HOWEVER, we can mention a few others who share fruit from this special site: AXR, Alpha Omega, The Debate, Fait-Main, and Zeitgeist; all of which sit comfortably in the $150-200+ range. No doubt this fruit is precious! Antonio Galloniâs Vinous praises âa Yountville vineyard that has really come on strong of late, elevating a number of winesâ while adding that THIS cult producerâs example âremains one of the best wines off this site.â
The wine? Weâre allowed to confess that it has at least a couple of 95-100 reviews by a major publication, and raving snippets that include âa racy, silky Cabernet with superb fruit purity and tons of nuance,â this â2017 turned out beautifully,â âwith a satisfying mid-palate and a solid backbone of ripe, grainy tannins supporting the generous fruit.â A âstunningâ âwine of volume, textural intensity and darkness,â and clearly âthis is one of the best wines from here.â
Anytime you get a case of wine delivered, itâs a good day. But when this package lands on your doorstep itâll be like Christmas in April, thatâs for sure. Treat yourself!
