Mission Codename The missing link
“Bold strategy Cotton”
Let’s see if this pays off.
Because last time we brought you this wine was on June 28, 2020. It was still $100, and we knocked about half off the price.
Not bad.
But today? We’re going harder. Try OVER 70% OFF. Go big or go home!
That also seems to be the winemaking approach of Chris Taddei. He’s like a habitual line stepper, always pushing the limit in a quest to make big, bold, kickass wines. Like wearing camouflage Crocs with jean shorts, this Cabernet reflects a certain unique style. If you can pull it off, it just works.
This is 100% Knights Valley Cabernet, from impossibly steep hillsides at 1,500’ elevation. Link Vineyard is smack in the middle of this almost-Napa appellation. Within a stone’s throw lie prized sites tended by Beringer, Anakota, or Peter Michael. That’s $125-$300 a bottle territory, nowhere near what you are paying for this mother of all finds. Speaking of… the owners of the precious Link Vineyard work with Luc Morlet of Peter Michael for their version, a small world indeed!
Raised in 100% new French oak for 36 months, it’s just starting to come into its own. Every sip forces you to surrender all bodily autonomy. Just sit back, and enjoy the hedonistic rush of blackberry jam, dark cherry, and blueberry pie - crust, spices, and all, with lavish sweet oak wrapping it all up. Overt and bold - if that’s not your style of Cabernet, you’ve been warned…
For under $30?! Have we gone mad?
