Mission Codename Victory
Happy Fourth of July! Take a break from admiring that 18-shot Nuclear Sunrise, step away from the Traeger, press pause on the ‘Murica Spotify playlist. We need your full attention because we got a good one for you.
This, for us, is California Chardonnay perfection.
The sheer depth and extraction floored us, and it has balance in all the right places. It’s a fair value at the winery price and an absolute must have at ours. $25?!
Oh, but hurry, because there’s not much to go around.
This comes from a small husband and wife team in Napa. Winemaker Lars Bjorkman is a California native who has worked alongside Nils Venge at Saddleback as their Associate Winemaker since 2006. He works closely with his wife Molly, who brings experience at Beringer, Domaine Carneros, Seasmoke, and Sequoia Grove where she worked as their head winemaker. Together they’re crushing it.
The basket of tropical fruits! Showy, flashy, with huge crowd pleasing potential here. BUT it only sees around 30% new oak, and no malolactic fermentation, so if you’re looking for a butter bomb, this ain’t quite it. But even if that’s your thing, we think you’ll dig the kiss of brioche, the whisper of creme brulee and the creamy texture. Surely you’ll fall in love with its pure tropical and citrus packed goodness - pineapple, mango, banana, white peach and some beautiful minerality and zippy ginger. Gorgeous floral components too, with honeysuckle popping off. The mouthfeel is viscous and rich, with great acidity to keep it from stalling out and it never seems heavy or cloying. In summary, pure sexiness. An ultra refreshing choice on these hot days, nights, mornings, or anytime in between. We can’t say enough, you just need to taste it.
Trust your besotted Spies and grab a few.
Enjoy the fireworks!
