Mission Codename CellarStocker#3
Moving right along, the third installation of our Cellar Stocker - Patz & Hall!
We know how much you love Patz & Hall, and you know how much we love Patz & Hall. If you want a Pinot to stand up against other big shots like William Selyem and Kosta Browne, but you don’t want to pay $100+ this is the one. You’ll have a hard time finding a better Pinot at this price anywhere in fact.
What we did not know was that this wine was even available much outside the mailing list. Yea, you see a bottle here, a bottle there at your ma & pa shop or restaurant, but a SMALL PILE of Chenoweth?
Like 95 & 94 points good AND over 30% off a beloved single-vineyard?!
Robert Parker declares that “Patz & Hall has a long and enviable track record, making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from some of the very finest single vineyards in Northern California. They rarely miss a beat, and the wines are sure bets.”
Oh, and speaking of Chardonnay, we dropped the last of our not-so-generous allocation of the HYDE you also love here in the Store - until it’s not.
We took all they had in a heartbeat, but was it enough?
95 Points – Wine Enthusiast
“This is a spicy, fruity and layered wine, intensely built from a vineyard-designated site the producer has been working with since 2004. Underlying acidity gives it a crispness that is bold and balanced, with lasting notes of earthy forest and black tea.”
94 Points – Jeb Dunnuck
“The 2018 Pinot Noir Chenoweth Ranch comes from a 7-acre vineyard in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley. The aromatics lift with spice, fresh sage, and cherry lozenge. It has ample structure, with ripe tannins and persistent energy throughout. There is no hurry here to open this one, but drink it over the next 8-10 years. Drink 2022-2032.”
