Mission Codename Did you ever drink with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Today we have three bone-rattling TREATS for your adult indulgence. One here and two in the Store.
BUT THIS - a screaming good bargain (with a ghoulish 70% OFF) on one of the tastiest Napa Cabs we’ve had in some time.
Shannon Family’s “Devil’s Well” retails for $115 and it’s one of their flagship rarities. We worked some hoodoo voodoo magic, said a spell, and BAM - a wicked price ($35!!) appears right before your eyes.
Buuuuut it’s also one of their smallest productions= wines. Just 100 cases made. So, you know… stack what you can on the ol’ broomstick and cut loose before it’s gone.
Sourced from an undisclosed but reputed ‘cult’ vineyard and made by an also undisclosed but equally reputed winemaker, there’s an air of mystery surrounding it. While Joy Merrilees oversees winemaking for Shannon Family, based in Lake County, this was made in Napa Valley we suspect? We do know one thing - it’s freakin’ delicious! Densely packed with purple and black fruits, it’s inky and dark as a devil’s well, just seamless across the palate. Bubbling up with savory herbs and violets and baking spices. Soaring with dark fruit - plums, figs, cherry, and maybe some Speculoos cookie dough?! YUM.
Shannon Family, with a legacy back to the 19th century, brings us winners after winners, with staples like Clay Shannon, Buck Shack, Steele, to name a few of the labels we’ve seen over the years. Yet this one, arriving on a Halloween, is DEVILISHLY their best ever, WELL done (insert creepy laugh.)
All that pedigree and deliciousness at this price? Are you kidding me? TREAT YOURSELF to enough for next year’s party, or whatever occult occasion you have planned in the near future.
