Everyone knows there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well, we’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on sophisticated rainbow tracking technology, and we haven’t found it yet. But we won’t give up. We’ll never give up.

Not because the commodities market is up, and now’s a good time to own gold. Not because we always wanted to shake a leprechaun’s hand. Not because the dude that sold us that rainbow equipment told us that if you stand in a rainbow it gives you superpowers.

We won’t give up because what’s important is to follow your dream. That’s what the two women behind Empress Vineyards are doing, and it’s inspiring. Particularly when the quest led them directly to Robert Rex as the master winemaker shepherding them on their journey. You may know him from Deerfield Ranch…

This Pinot Noir is the inaugural wine for Empress Vineyards. We wanted to support them (and this delicious juice) by buying the entire lot to share with our Operatives. Raveina and Dawn, the queens behind Empress, have already released a Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé.

But we wouldn’t buy a wine out of the goodness of our very large hearts. It has to deliver. And it does. This single vineyard ruby red Pinot is SCARY easy to drink. Medium bodied, with silky texture it deals all manner of red cherry, rhubarb, black tea, exotic spices in abundance. You’ll look down at your empty glass and swear you only took two sips. Maybe it’s the nearly two years this Pinot spent cooling its heels in Deerfield Ranch Winery’s cave, under the watchful eye of Robert Rex (an Operative favorite winemaker).

Follow your dreams. You may not have realized it, but your dream is to pick up a couple of bottles of this tasty Pinot. These ladies are going to leave us in the dust, so pick up some Empress to impress while you still can.
