Mission Codename Spring into action
“Juslyn has been a solid performer for many years, but the most recent vintages exhibit a profound rise in quality, yet prices remain realistic for high-end Napa wines.” – Robert Parker
Oh yea, we’re crashing through your inbox like the Kool-Aid man but instead of red dye #40 and sticky high fructose corn syrup, we’re overflowing with big, sultry Spring Mountain Cabernet goodness!
Robert Parker continues his rave “It seems to me that Juslyn is still somewhat under the radar for many wine consumers, but this is irrefutably an up-and-coming serious producer on Spring Mountain… brilliant examples of elegant Bordeaux-styled Cabernets, with freshness, outstanding aging potential, and beautiful purity and depth.”
This wine brings all that high elevation, mountain-grown power, and complexity you crave. And to sweeten the deal, we finessed that price from $110 down to $39!
Now that price seems totally unrealistic - but even the fact-checkers agree it’s 100% verifiably true.
Juslyn has been turning out fantastic wines for years and it’s been a while since we landed anything from them. But we’re beyond stoked to have this gem for you, today, while it lasts.
Fourth-generation winemaker Angelina Mondavi from the celebrated Napa Valley wine family crafted this bottle. Yes, it helps when you have that legacy running in your DNA, but it also helps that she gained a ton of experience under Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre fame. Lately, she’s focused on a few clients she consults for, along with the cult labels Aloft and Dark Matter she makes with her sisters. The lessons learned are on full display here.
“Perry’s Blend” has always been a strong wine in their lineup, with the most vintages stretching back a decade earning 92-95 points from the critics. This is just flat-out inky, burly, FULL THROTTLE Cabernet from every angle. A truly staggering wine, packed with jammy black currant, torrefaction, wood spice, licorice, and tobacco leaf. Powerful tannins beg for some fatty cut of steak or pork belly - or just enjoy as a meal on its own. Lay it down a year, ten years, 20+ years if you want - you’ll be happy opening it on any date in between now and then.
Only one tasting note on it out there from the press, a very early impression by Wine Advocate, but right on the money: “Made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the barrel sample of 2017 Perry’s Blend is deep garnet-purple in color and rocks up with bold baked blackberries, prunes and raisin cake scents with hints of sewed tea and tobacco plus a waft of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, firm and chewy… with a compellingly savory finish.”
Now make it yours - and don’t wait because it will sell out.
