Mission Codename Sleek Stiling
When you woke up this morning, you probably didn’t realize there would be a mouth-filling, pleasure-inducing, soul-rejuvenating Pinot in your future.
This thing is what dreams are made of!
Erik Kent was a MASSIVE hit when we first offered his Sacha Marie Pinot back in 2020. And this bottling should prove equally compelling at our sub-$30 price. A scant 95 cases were made though, and we have but a fraction to share today.
After 18 vintages from Stiling Vineyard, Kent has it dialed in. This comes to you from the heart of Russian River from a neighborhood where heavy hitters like Kistler and Gary Farrell (with their own Stiling) tout wines that consistently get big scores. It flashes all the lovely deep fruit you expect from this warmer region and easily matches up against those aforementioned heavy hitters. For a fraction of the price!
Kent Humphrey, otherwise known as Eric Kent spent some time under Bill Hunter of Chasseur and Mike Officer of Carlisle so he knows a few things about making kickass wines. He and his wife Colleen launched Eric Kent to honor their shared love of art. Each vintage features a unique artist on the label and a true expression of place in the bottle. Humphrey makes wines “of immense charm and poise,” according to PinotFile and this takes it to a whole new level.
Immense is one way to describe this. This Pinot Noir is not for the faint of heart and has a powerful grip of ripeness. Still, it remains superbly balanced with brisk, bright acidity. It gets all up in your grill with juicy black cherries, black raspberry, vanilla and cola, some cedar, and exotic spice too. It’s creamy, velvety, and straight-up DELISH with a finish that stays around.
You will not find a wine so rich and sexy for this price. Like Kosta Browne without the price tag!
Under $30 for this gem is like a dream. Get on it quickly!
