Diehard Napa Cabernet fans already know Beau Vigne - whether through us recently, or from when they splashed onto the scene in the early 2000s with huge scores. Robert Parker labeled them “one of my favorite wineries.” and they’ve amassed close to TWO DOZEN 95-100-point wines. Taking over Kirk Venge after the 2018 harvest, today they have 100-point winemaking stud Julien Fayard (Lafite Rothschild, Smith Haut Lafitte, Melka, Quintessa, Realm, Covert Estate) running the show… and man, he’s just crushing it.

So yea, what you get here is that modern, polished, flashy Napa Cabernet in all its glory. It brings a combo of deep red and black fruits - quite ripe, almost sweet (open knit and forward as WA puts it), with both red and black licorice, red currants, and black plums. Maybe some of that POM juice, or cherry pie? Dried tobacco leaf, dusty spicebox, and plenty of oak round things out. To be clear this is a big, masculine wine with some serious OOMPH. If that’s your style, you’ll love it.
