The winemaker here has almost 40 years of experience in Coombsville and all its glory.

According to famous geologist David Howell, Coombsville’s geology is crazy unique. Besides Calistoga, which is on the other side of the valley, it is the only place in Napa where the soil is only volcanic, with nothing else mixed in. Purity at its finest! He says, “It is one of the best AVAs because it is clearly defined. There’s no doubt about it. This is the Coombsville caldera, and it’s a fabulous AVA.” That’s science!

And Rock nerds aren’t the only fans of this region. Antonio Galloni of Vinous fame remarked because there are only mountains on one side of the AVA, “There’s a feeling of luminosity.
