Mission Codename Untamed
Hold on to your hats, ladies & gentlemen! We’ve got a doozy for y’all.
This is the SHIZZLE! The B on the LT. The olives in the martini. The cherry in the Manhattan (the good kind, obviously!).
And at a whopping 66% off, we are eating this one up! Neighbors of this producer sell wines for $100, $200, $300 even $500 - easily so to find it for $37 is insane. OVER $70 OFF!!
Savage Cellars is a producer who works with the best of the best, all around. Their impossibly high standards extend from the vineyards to the cellar, and you can taste it in the bottle. They source sustainably grown fruit from the best vintners and contract different winemakers who know the fruit inside and out and lend their expertise to the project. The winemaker here has almost 40 years of experience in Coombsville and all its glory.
According to famous geologist David Howell, Coombsville’s geology is crazy unique. Besides Calistoga, which is on the other side of the valley, it is the only place in Napa where the soil is only volcanic, with nothing else mixed in. Purity at its finest! He says, “It is one of the best AVAs because it is clearly defined. There’s no doubt about it. This is the Coombsville caldera, and it’s a fabulous AVA.” That’s science!
And Rock nerds aren’t the only fans of this region. Antonio Galloni of Vinous fame remarked because there are only mountains on one side of the AVA, “There’s a feeling of luminosity. Today, people enjoy wines that have savory characteristics. People enjoy wines that have freshness. People enjoy wines that have minerality,” says Galloni and Coombsville is at the top of that list.
So fresh. So clean. So elegant. This wine has all you dream about in a Napa Valley Cabernet. It is dripping with aromas of blackberry, mocha and cassis. In the glass, find wild flavors of plum, blueberry bramble, cedar and anise. All that wrapped around perfectly balanced acid and lush, polished tannins. This one drinks like a champ now and will truly age a decade plus!
Anyways, this is just pure madness, we tell you. We’re descending into uncharted territory here and urge you with all sincerity - do not delay!
