So, no kidding. Just ONE listing of this CULT GARAGISTE BEAUTY in the US of A and it’s $279.99 a bottle at some Cartel outfit here if you don’t believe us. I guess they too heard that it’s made by the winemaker of Cheval Blanc for 3 decades, with 10+ of his vintages receiving perfect 100 point scores. The 2020 Cheval Blanc, for reference, goes for $800+.

To be clear, we are NOT claiming that this wine is worth $280, either. Let’s be real. But $28??! ABSOLUTELY.

Now, you may be wondering how we landed this stuff.

Agents Noir and Vine had a couple of missions to Bordeaux this year. Turning over stones, sniffing out the best possible deals on the best possible wines. Along the way ONE WINE really stood out. Like the one ring to rule them all.

It checked all the boxes. Terrific value, with its singularity, intensity, and purity of fruit. They had no idea who made it, and what it would take to get it in front of you. But after months of tireless effort, it happened.

“Supple and generous, the 2020 8a hits the palate with exuberant dark red/purplish fruit followed by an array of floral and spice overtones that add complexity. The purity of the flavors is striking.” (Vinous) “Has more lift and certainly more complexity on the nose compared to the regular bottling. Slightly more tertiary in style, savory perhaps. The palate is medium bodied with grainy tannins, black olive and tinged black fruit that define its saline finish. This is an excellent Lalande-de-Pomerol that is worth hunting down…” (Wine Advocate)
