Mission Codename Still showy
Well, that Single Vineyard didn’t last long…. The Peake is sold out. Good thing we were nice to Dianna! We’ve got a small allocation of her Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is up next for you.
And what an epic deal! For just TWENTYFIVE BUCKS you get to taste some of the finest Pinot making in California. 93 points Wine Enthusiast, too! Just a massive win for everyone who gets their hands on this stuff.
Dianna Novy is a self-made, badass, boss lady of wine and she GRACED us with her wine today. 2023 will be Dianna’s 30th vintage as a winemaker and Flaunt Wine Company is her first solo project.
Starting at Lambert Bridge and Benziger back in the early 1990s, she then co-founded Siduri and Novy Family Wines with Adam Lee, and came to produce some of the most legendary Pinot Noirs from the most famous cool climate sites on the West Coast.
Her reputation for excellence is SO apparent in these wines. And Wine Enthusiast agrees! They gave the Sta Rita Hills designate 93 points and commented that it “is still quite young but already easy to quaff.” You don’t have to tell me twice… do we have to tell you ?!
Pretty and delicate with loads of flavor. Think raspberries, strawberries, and lilac on the nose which leads to beautiful layers of fruit, floral and charming spice. Flavors dance around silky tannins and bright acidity. This one will age beautifully for 10 years easily if you can keep it around. Might be a good idea to invest in a few cases.
Dianna is Flaunting her genius here so do not delay. Again, we only got so much!
93 Points – Wine Enthusiast
“A beautiful shade of reddish violet in the glass, this appellation blend is clean and brisk on the nose with raspberry, pomegranate and currant aromas. It’s tightly focused on the sip, where hibiscus and raspberry flavors are wrapped in chalky tannins. A lemon-rind bite adds to the palate, which is still quite young but already easy to quaff.”
