Mission Codename Pink and Showy
Second Pour: Those Flaunt Pinots took the site by storm, and we’ve been overwhelmed with asks for more. Diana Novy took a page straight from the Siduri playbook and is CRUSHING it with these wines.
While we wait on more Pinot, here’s another chance to get their Rosé of Pinot. I’ve been drinking FAR TOO MUCH of this, so please get some before I start bleeding pink. It’s just too good. Last night with a cajun salmon over barley, with tomatoes and poblano peppers and a jalapeño chimichurri?! OH MY…anyways, just get some. Do it. I promise it will be one of the best things that hits your lips all year.
An epic deal for just NINETEEN BUCKS you get access to a dreamy Rosé. Not a lot of scores on this one except from drunkencyclist.com who gave it an outstanding, 93 points and writes “…if they were trying to imitate Provence, they certainly nailed it.” Amen!
Dianna Novy is a self-made, badass, boss lady of wine and she GRACED us with her wine today. 2023 will be Dianna’s 30th vintage as a winemaker and Flaunt Wine Company is her first solo project.
Starting at Lambert Bridge and Benziger back in the early 1990s, she then co-founded Siduri and Novy Family Wines with Adam Lee, and came to produce some of the most legendary Pinot Noirs from the most famous cool climate sites on the West Coast.
Her reputation for excellence is SO apparent in these wines and the Rosé is no exception. A medium-bodied expression of Pinot that crosses the bridge between Provence and California. Perfectly balanced between bright acidity and grounding structure. Bursting with strawberry, watermelon, pink grapefruits, and a tickle of spices. Ripe and juicy but also carrying beautiful acidity. Seriously, y’all - so good. Will drink like a champ for another few years, too, no doubt.
Dianna is Flaunting her genius here so do not delay. Again, we only got so much!
93 Points – The Drunken Cyclist
“Very light in the glass, almost Provencal, with subtle fruit and white flower. The palate is also full-blown Provence with excellent balance and brightness. This might be a bit light for some, but if they were trying to imitate Provence, they certainly nailed it. Outstanding.”
