Mission Codename Found treasure
Location, Location, Location!
No, we’re not buying a restaurant (maybe later), but we are talking Russian River Pinot here.
It’s all about the site. Not all single vineyards are created equal. Some are so famous that you can’t get a sniff of them at under $50 a bottle. Some are in the same exact neighborhood but are far less known.
Maybe you know Kistler, Joesph Swan, and Saralee’s… - did you know they’re all neighbors surrounding Stegman Ranch?!
Oh, let’s also drop you a “told you so” here as we’ve been shouting it since the first sip, as Vinous recently raved about Sonoma’s Sensational 2021s “The wines are fabulous, 2021s are generally potent, brooding wines with dark fruit profiles and tons of textural depth. Some wines are surprisingly intense… balance in the young 2021 Pinots is superb.”
Deeply pitched, explosive aromas of black raspberry, exotic Fall spices, milk chocolate, cola, and dusty cocoa, complicated by intriguing potpourri and mineral nuances. Rich, sweet, and deep, with a silky texture and palate-staining red and dark berry preserve and rose flavors. Showcasing alluring sappiness on the long, penetrating finish, which strongly echoes the spice and floral notes. Drinks like a hypothetical cross of a cult Pinot from nearby and a warm vintage of a top Gevrey-Chambertin. A showstopper way above its league, for how much again?!
You already know what to do. How many of their wines have we sold over the years? So many. Every single one vanishes in a new record time. And this one? A powerful little fruit bomb of a Pinot at nearly half price - inventory already dropping at a rapid pace.
While the DeLoach family sold their winery years ago, they couldn’t shake that winemaking itch, so they started a label named after the San Francisco fire station where Cecil DeLoach was stationed. If you have been around, you know they have a stronghold in the Russian River Valley. We don’t know exactly how they manage it, yet with a strong underground following Hook & Ladder keeps off the radar of the wine press, which helps us secure these insane deals for you.
Load up your carts and lockers quietly and check out before it sells out.
