Mission Codename Double or triple?

“Philippe Melka couldn’t make a bad wine if he tried. He’s the wine-world equivalent of an NBA All-Star who’s won numerous Championship games.” – Food & Wine

And what happens when Philippe Melka (Dominus, Château Haut-Brion, Petrus, and too many more to list) and Maayan Koschitzky (Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Lail, Seavey…) join forces? It’s like Jordan and Pippen. Brady and Moss. Hall and Oates… you get the idea. Magic!

Double the Eagles yes, but with triple the 94 points from Wine Enthusiast, The Tasting Panel, and Decanter. Plus, it’s not even close to the triple digit price of most anything else by these two.

Usually $90… but we laugh in the face of inflation. Scoff at the SRP. And judo-chop it down to $54!

We’re madly in love with these wines. This is the third we’ve offered, and everyone knocks it out of the park. With grapes sourced from two ‘very exclusive’ vineyard sites in St. Helena and Oakville, it has all the pedigree without the price.

Beautifully packaged with a unique leather label, wax cap, and a hefty bottle - the whole presentation carries through to the wine too. It’s almost entirely Cabernet at 93% with a rounding balance of plummy Merlot, a demonstration of plush, hedonistic, downright sexy and skilled winemaking. It is ripped with plum jam, blackberry coulis, licorice, mocha, and vanilla. A hint of fresh-tilled earth. Soft, smooth, and creamy, the finish just coats your tongue, takes a nap, and never leaves.

If you like your Napa reds BIG this is a must-have. And at 40% OFF?! What a score… or three!

94 Points – Wine Enthusiast

“A salty, toasty top note and very rich, broad black-fruit flavors add allure to this full-bodied wine. Backed by fine-grained tannins, dark chocolate and hints of mint show up on the palate and linger on the finish. Best through 2032.”

94 Points – Decanter

“A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from Mill Creek Vineyard in St. Helena and Skellenger Vineyard in Oakville. Toasty oak aromas with a sheen of vanilla crème brûlée, brandied cherries and charred herbs. Layered flavours of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry give way to coffee, scorched earth and dried flowers. Full-bodied with chewy, muscular tannins that resolve on a long savoury finish of cocoa and black olive. Drink 2022-2036.”

94 Points – The Tasting Panel

“A deep ruby/plum hue as well as a killer bouquet of ripe black fruits, spicy oak, dried flowers, and licorice. It’s ripe and medium to full-bodied, with a broad, voluptuous mouthfeel and velvety tannins. This impeccably made red blend is perfect for drinking over the coming decade.”
