Mission Codename Cheval Lodi
We were not ready for this.
A $21 Lodi wine…that drinks like a $800 Cheval Blanc if tasted blind?! Preposterous. Ridiculous. This must be a joke.
Right? RIGHT??
It sounds wild to even read that out loud. And we also realize the weight of a 99 point score from the CA State Fair has as much gravity as a pig in outer space, BUT we feel it’s fairly justified. When this hits your lips, you’ll understand.
Lodi might be the bulk wine capital of California, but this shows they can be highly capable of GREATNESS for LESS. This is, after all, where Robert Mondavi started to build his kingdom. And with just ten barrels produced, this small production Cabernet Franc is an anomaly in a land where 100,000 cases is deemed “boutique” production. This captivated us with dark juicy plums for dayyyys, juicy red cherry, sweet baking spice and warm vanilla. From Napa to Bordeaux, you can’t really do better than this at the price.
This is just a total meatball served up right over the middle of the plate - all you need to do is hit that buy button and drive it home! But we can’t do it for you. Trust your faithful Agent and load up - Lodi doesn’t get much better than this!!
