Mission Codename When you're wright, you're wright

WHOA! a Ken Wright Pinot feels SO RIGHT that you just can’t go wrong!!!

Ken has way too many accolades, awards, and recognitions to list here, so let’s keep it short and sweet, otherwise, this will sell out before you read it all. Let’s put it this way… if we had the title here in the US, his name would be Sir Ken Wright by now. Wine Spectator called him the “Master of Pinot Noir in Oregon” adding that “Ken Wright Cellars has become a model of consistent excellence, producing 111 wines rated ‘outstanding’ in 18 vintages.” They also remain the ONLY Oregon winery to have ever achieved the “#1 Wine in the World” ranking by Wine Enthusiast as if that wasn’t enough.

Since its creation in 1994, Ken Wright Cellars sits strategically placed in the heart of the Willamette Valley one of Oregon’s Pinot Noir pioneers. Over the years Ken Wright has singlehandedly produced some of Oregon’s most compelling Pinot Noir’s will multiple vineyards throughout the great state.

The wine shows soft floral & spice characteristics. The fruits are juicy and plush with dried blueberry, black cherry, marionberry, and hints of warm spices-nutmeg & cardamom. The artwork on the label recognizes the original cherry orchard plantings on the vineyard property which was removed in 2005.

The Bonnie Jean Vineyard is located 2.5 miles east of Carlton in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Due to its cooler climate and ancient marine sediments, the Bonnie Jean Vineyard produces Pinot Noirs with finesse and elegance. Usually, these wines show their best up to 10 years for off vintages and a little longer for great vintages.

The 2015 vintage was slightly warmer than usual but with larger clusters to help balance the intense fruit into a very elegant and refined Pinot Noir. A vintage where skilled vineyard management and skilled winemaking were a must. Ken Wright did not disappoint with this 2015 Bonnie Jean Vineyard.

We got just a few bottles, don’t be sorry if you miss out

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast

“This young wine comes up quickly with strawberry fruit, ripe and dotted with white pepper. There are hints of parsley, and impressive midpalate concentration. With all of Ken Wright’s wines, which are released quite young, the odds strongly favor additional development and improved complexity with another few years of bottle age.”
