Mission Codename Bomb Diggity
“Either give me more wine or leave me alone” - Rumi
MOAR CABERNET! We hear you, loud and clear! If you’ve been waiting for a serious Cabernet at a very unserious price, look no further! Today’s “la bomba” Cabernet drops a depth charge of expansive fruit straight on your noggin. For an eye-popping price - half off, naturally, because we love you.
Happy Canyon AVA in Santa Barbera has been a hotbed for sensational values in recent years and this is a perfect example. Factor in winemaker Michael Roth, who spent the early part of his career under the wing of Nils Venge and Mike Grgich, and then layer on a 50% discount, and you have a recipe for success.
So…the wine. A STAMPEDE of dark, jammy, ripe fruit packed into a fabulously dense core! Blackberry jam and black cherry for days. There’s vanilla cola and chocolate wrapped cherries with a hint of smoke and peppery spice, too. One thing’s for sure - it’ll light up your brain’s pleasure center like Clark Griswold’s house at Christmas. Worth mentioning the wine spent time in a mix of used American and French oak, an interesting combo which layers extra complexity without overpowering the fruit.
Drink this with abandon any given night of the week, while you wait for your other big gun reds to settle down. You gotta move NOW because Cab has been flying lately!
