Both were blindingly flashy, insanely FRESH, and intensely concentrated. This one, powered by fruit from Deering Vineyard atop the famous Moon Mountain AVA marks only the 2nd harvest ever from this young, CCOF certified organically grown fruit. And if this wine is any indication, we can’t wait for many more.

Inky black, blue, and purple inside out. JAMMY and ripe, but not syrupy or sweet at all. This opens with a dense, deep cascade of red and black berry fruits, like a bramble pie. Black cherry preserve, red currants, blackberries, a smack of boysenberry, and some sweet vanilla chai. With soft and silky tannins on top! It drinks like a heavyweight champ straight out the gate, with plenty of nuance and grace to spare, and has a long, long road ahead of blooming into new depths. Pair this beauty with an orange-glazed duck breast served atop braised lentils.
