How’s OVER 70% OFF a monstrous single-vineyard Napa Cabernet? On release, it was $75. If you found a deep deal back then, maybe you paid $45-50. But from us, your trusted source for the good stuff? We knocked it down to a light and breezy $22!! Try finding ANYTHING single vineyard with the words ‘Napa’ and ‘Cabernet’ on the label for this price - we’ll wait.
Opal Moon is owned by the Bonneau family and made by Operative-favorite 3rd generation vintner John Bambury. Today they operate mostly as a custom crush facility but vinify a small bit of their own label - like this bad boy. If you got some of the wines we offered in the past, you already know what’s up. It’s rare to see any of their releases out in the wild these days, and how we landed this must remain a well-guarded secret. We got our cases - now it’s your turn!
In the Napa Valley, location is everything and the Broken Rock Vineyard has it going. Guarachi, Melka, Prime Solum all source from this rugged spot. Bill Hill, the founder of William Hill and Prime Solum, spent 40+ years finding the best vineyards in Napa, including this one. Just off Silverado Trail at the foothills of Atlas Peak, this “bench” location offers a nice balance of floor and hillside character. The best of both worlds, really.
This big, burly, purpled out, black as night juice brings it, delivering a rich, expansive, and saturating mix of red and black fruit mixed with some dusty minerality, black pepper spice, blackcurrant, and dark plum aromas and flavors. Not overly extracted, it flashes a pleasant mix of Old and New World styles with no shortage of pure power from all sides, as the long finish caresses, no make that arrests, the palate. Black pepper crusted, rosemary, and garlic studded saddle of lamb with mashed potatoes anyone? Hell yeah.
Really speaks for the 2014 Cabernet vintage in Napa, rated Outstanding by the Wine Spectator as “Quality is very consistent, with the wines showing power and depth, as well as extra aromatic range. A beautiful vintage with a distinct signature.”
Anyways, not much more to say other than the inventory is already rapidly dropping. TWENTY-TWO BUCKS! Get yours while it’s here. Sell out imminent!
