“Caelesta Vineyard sits on steep hillsides at the end of the Templeton Gap’s cool wind tunnel, imbuing the Farrell family’s Rhône varieties with tremendous depth.” – Wine Enthusiast

64% OFF a 94-point Paso red?!

Say less. If you love those big, powerful, round, fruit-loaded Paso reds but also value elegance and complexity this is a MUST. Skip the fine print, head straight to the checkout, and lock it down.

When we tasted this, it delivered all the juicy, powerful Paso power we hoped for. And when we saw the pricing? Disbelief followed by instant jubilation. A $75, small-production, inaugural release from an up-and-coming project… for $27? NO-BRAINER!

Caelesta Vineyard was unfamiliar to us. For good reason. A relative newcomer to the Paso Robles wine scene, they own a 200-acre property and planted vines on the elevated hillsides in 2017. The Templeton Gap AVA sits closest to the Pacific Ocean in Paso and is the coolest of the 11 AVAs. And their property is rich with Linne Calodo soils that offer a terrific minerality, lending layers of elegance and restraint to the otherwise high-octane wines so often produced in the region.

With just a few years of production under their belt at their new winery they’re already crushing it and seem to be doing everything right, already storming the gates with 94 points on the way to cultdom.

Winemaker Brian Farrell Jr. deserves much of the credit here. He worked with some big-timers in the industry. First was Pete Turrone who’s behind the venerable My Favorite Neighbor and Harvey & Harriet wines. Then with Tony Biagi who recently took the helm at To Kalon Vineyard Company. Brian had worked with Tony at Jada prior, plus at Epoch as well as Two Hands in Australia learning the nuances of winemaking. In 2019 they released their first vintage and simply crushed it.

Simply a fantastic wine, and an insane value. If this is any indication of their quality, we’re looking forward to future releases, and we know you’ll be thrilled with this one.

The only downside? Wish we could have bought more… will not last!

94 Points – Wine Enthusiast

“Focused aromas of crushed asphalt, loamy soil, violet and cassis are dark and elegant on the nose of this blend of 42% Syrah, 32% Mourvèdre and 26% Grenache. The palate is very savory, with flavors of charred meat, cracked pepper and vibrant elderberry fruit.”
