Mission Codename High five!
“A diverse mix of high-quality estate vineyards. An experienced production team. A driven owner… Three Sticks seems primed to be among the leaders in the category.” – Wine Spectator
It’s happening!
Finally, after MONTHS of trying to land this blue-chip winery, we are now basically besties. First, we brought you an epic deal with their Pinot Noir and today we’re back again, with the Zinfandel!
Some things in nature will remain a mystery - the murmuration of starlings, what whales are saying to each other, and THIS - an $18 Sonoma Zinfandel that punches waaaay over its weight.
Just move quickly because one thing is certain – Head High will not last, again.
Why? Fair warning, LOTS of name-dropping ahead: First there’s the proprietor, Bill Price III, of Kistler, Gary Farrell, along with Kosta Browne from 2009 through 2015, when he took on Three Sticks with consulting winemaker extraordinaire Bob Cabral, a name we all know very well from his 17-year stint at Williams Selyem who’s currently at Bricoleur Vineyards. Then there’s Britt Richards, the young and talented day-to-day Head High winemaker, who has her own star-studded resume with Jordan, Chappellet, Peter Michael, and Atelier Melka on there. Phew. Back to the wine!
This Zinfandel is gorgeous! And side note/bonus points - Head High is the first and only wine project that is certified Ocean Positive – a valiant initiative for “taking action NOW to sequester more carbon emissions than they’re creating – having a positive impact on the ocean and the life it supports.”
The wine is lush and layered. Think cherries and plum with ample blueberry and pepper that rounds out a silky-smooth texture. Light hints of espresso, and fresh toast also play perfectly in tune with cocoa and blueberry. Blind tasting, you’d guess this Zin was priced at $60, heck $80! Which makes OUR PRICE an unbelievable deal.
Locker up more than you think. Maybe invite a friend to get some so you can drink theirs! They’ll get $20 credit, which is basically a free bottle, and you’ll get $20 after they buy.
But we’re warning you – we grabbed as much as we could muster up, but when those emails flood in asking for more there’s no guarantee…
