Mission Codename High winds
“Sojourn was how I could scratch my Pinot Noir itch.” – Erich Bradley, Winemaker
Today is a big day, folks! We are lucky to have our friends at Sojourn Cellars - a Wine Spectator Top 100 winery and home of California’s top-rated Pinot Noir of the year - back on Wine Spies!
Sojourn’s Pinots are highly prized, and this is one of the best values that we’ve featured in recent memory.
Fog & Wind is their second label, with all the elegance and character of Sojourn that Robert Parker called “outstanding wines that merit attention” and we are down to give this Pinot Noir just that!
And you should too at OVER 40% OFF retail pricing, up there with the Pinot deals of the century.
Sojourn is known for having access to some of the most epic Pinot Noir vineyards around. This bottling pulls fruit from select sites in the Russian River Valley. An area perfect for Pinot Noir, boasting intense sunshine and fog rolling in from the Pacific Ocean which produces a concentration of flavor.
Director of Winemaking Erich Bradley got his start at Arrowood and went on to make wine for Hop Kiln as well as Audelssa in Glen Ellen. He credits both Richard Arrowood and David Ramey as his mentors. His right hand and General Manager Randy Bennett cut his teeth working with Thomas Brown and Mike Smith in the caves of Nicholson Ranch where they make Schrader Cellars, Rivers-Marie, Myriad Cellars, Tamber Bey, and (of course) Nicholson Ranch.
Their Pinot skills shine through in this ABSOLUTELY delicious and very highly recommended example. On the nose, think cherry cola and an array of soft spices. Elegant and silky-smooth tannins wrap around roasted strawberries, fresh cherry, black tea, and subtle notes of cedar. This wine is the whole package for any Pinot lover.
Don’t let it pass you by. You will not see this wine for this price anywhere else, so you better move quickly!
