Mission Codename Major
Lately, I’ve been seeking thrills in fun new ways. Ran a Tough Mudder, went white water rafting and I hear that scuba diving is way more fun when there are sharks in the water.
It’s been great and these thrills seemed unmatched. Until this wine came long…
It’s basically the same thing. And a lot less risky!
94 points from The Tasting Panel. And $112 back in your pocket. Released at $160 and yours while it lasts for $48… do not sleep on this one!
One taste confirmed a simple fact: this is the best Grand Napa wine we’ve tasted. Really. Polished, supple, seamless - it hits all the right marks and over-delivers big time.
Grand Napa has been on an upward trajectory since the beginning, making killer wines by sourcing fruit from some of the very best vineyard sites in Rutherford, Oakville, and St. Helena. This single vineyard gem comes from none other than Oakville, surrounded by expensive names you know: Opus One, Silver Oak and Cardinale making it the absolute best value around.
Full-bodied, with a great sense of polish and expressive fruit. A soft mouthfeel and lower acidity carry a gentle current of plush, fruit-friendly style with blackberry and black currant, dark plum taking the reins. Graphite and well-worn leather-bound books, a whisper of sweet tobacco, a kiss of that dusty soil, and toasty oak fill the gaps and merge into a seamless and satisfying finish. Ripe, soft tannins round it all out. Super attractive showing by all Napa standards, and terrifyingly easy to drink.
Easily one of Grand Napa’s best showings, and a total no-brainer if you’re looking for a Napa Cab that delivers triple digit quality for way less.
Again, 94 Points and $112 off!!
I’m still thinking the sharks will be fun…
94 Points – The Tasting Panel
“A very strong Cabernet from an exceptional vintage, this offers expressive aromas and very deep flavors. Impressively balanced, it has already absorbed most of the 50% new French oak in which it was aged, with only subtle spice and toast notes showing alongside the core of dark berry fruit. Subtle accents of autumn leaves and graphite lend additional complexity.”
