Mission Codename Depp big
GrapeHeart is BACK!
They always serve up a top-tier value - and if you had any of the previous offers, you already know this. We’ve brought you a handful of their reds (The Thrill, The Beat), but this is the first white we landed.
And if you find comfort in a lush, Johnny Depp-sized mega-pint of California Chardonnay, you need to get on board.
The price for this action??
We’ll punch your ticket for a low $20. 50% OFF, which adds up to a 100% no-brainer.
Frankly, we haven’t had a wine made by Jean Hoefliger (AXR, The Debate, Alpha Omega, Newton) that doesn’t put a huge smile on our faces. The man has a few 100-pointers and a grip of 95+ rated wines under his belt. And most of his wines cost 5x the price of this one!
Lush, mouthcoating, and yet not thick or overblown - this walks the line perfectly, capturing the balance of both new and old-world styles. Ripe and tropical, but crisp and refreshing. Packed up front with Nilla wafers, freshly sliced pineapples, lemon, and roasted golden apples. It’s toasty and rich but packed with enough acidity and freshness to prevent a palate pileup as the flavors coast along in an orderly fashion. I can’t help but feel a pang in my heart as I sit here in Maine, without a bottle to bring to the lobster pound in a few hours… but I’ll survive!!
No scores on this vintage, though Jeb Dunnuck raved on a previous one big time: “Made by Jean Hoefliger, all of these Grapeheart releases are outstanding wines and represent solid values. The Chardonnay is made in a richer, ripe style that has classy oak as well as ripe citrus and buttery notes. It’s beautifully balanced, textured, and stays clean and crisp on the finish.”
Good luck finding many Napa or Sonoma Chards that deliver more for the price you see here today.
