Mission Codename The little conqueror

One last treat for Halloween. That was spooky… how fast the OPUS ONE sold out!! Fear not! We have something else for your refined palate!

“Unremitting perfectionism and attention to detail is the order of the day at Château Latour, so it’s no surprise that this great estate delivers some of the finest wines in Bordeaux.”Wine Advocate

Wait, does Château Latour even need an intro? Or even ratings and reviews? It’s LATOUR for heaven’s sake. The 2nd wine Forts de Latour, on a difficult vintage like 2017, was one of the standout revelations of Agents Noir and Vine’s missions in Bordeaux a couple of summers ago.

With THREE 95 ratings from the professionals, who called it a “sensational effort” and “a fruit bomb of a wine” with a “powerful and seductive” structure you can bet it delivers.

And of course we edged out the competition with the price.

So, they went chasing after it, locked onto the target, but missed by a millimeter.

Yet even better! The 2018 Forts, baby!!!

That’s Latour for you, the undisputed Queen of First Growths. Whose second wine is what a lot of others strive by for their firsts, and then some. And to be able to bring these few cases to you at the BEST PRICE ON EARTH?

Going, going…

95 Points – Jeb Dunnuck “A fruit bomb of a wine, the 2018 Les Forts De Latour is just about overflowing with sweet cassis and darker currant-like fruit, as well as complex notes of smoked tobacco, flowery incense, and spice. This plush, full-bodied, sexy effort has sweet tannins, a layered, opulent mouthfeel, and a great finish. This sensational effort is based on 65.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and just a splash of Petit Verdot, and it’s as good as most châteaux’s Grand Vin. Drink bottles any time over the coming 2+ decades. Drink 2024-2045.”

95 Points – The Wine Independent “A blend of 65.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 0.4% Petit Verdot, Les Forts de Latour 2018 has a deep garnet-purple color. It storms out of the glass with powerful scents of blackberry pie, boysenberry preserves, and crème de cassis, melding into a background of sandalwood, Indian spices, dusty soil, and licorice, with a hint of dried flowers. The medium to full-bodied palate is powerful and seductive, delivering firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness to frame the generous flavors of black fruit preserves, finishing long and opulent. Drink 2025-2050.”

94+ Points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate “The 2018 Les Forts de Latour is made up of 65.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 0.4% Petit Verdot, with 14.2% alcohol and an IPT (total polyphenol index) of 77. It was aged in 60% new oak. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a fair bit of swirling to reveal notions of baked black cherries, cassis and blackberry pie with hints of pencil lead, clove oil, cardamom and allspice with a waft of violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers impressive density with velvety tannins and a lively backbone supporting the generous black fruits, finishing long with all the earthy nuances coming through at the very end. Drink 2025-2045.”

95 Points – James Suckling “A solid and steely red with lots of blackcurrant and blueberry character. Medium-to full-bodied and polished, fine tannins. Flavorful finish.”
