Mission Codename Crimson Aria
A few weeks ago, we rolled out the Madrigal Petit Verdot and were SHOCKED at the response. A steady stream of orders drained it to 0 over the course of the day.
Maybe we should have been better prepared.
We knew it was good stuff and felt assured by Jayson Woodbridge’s own assessment when said when he jumped on this property: “this type of opportunity only comes along for vineyards of this quality, perhaps every 50 years.”
You’ve probably heard of him. When it comes to cult California wine production, he’s THAT GUY.
So, with hindsight, we went back to the well and sourced THIS. The definition of a crowd pleaser. And one that’ll satisfy even the most scrupulous of Napa wine collecting cognoscenti.
An impeccably made red from one of Napa Valley’s best vintages in recent memory always makes us sit up and take notice. But Madrigal estate blend blew us away! It obviously made one of the world’s most decorated cult wine proprietors, Jayson Woodbridge, not just take notice, but take action!
We could say that Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre fame has been collecting perfect 100-point scores for his wines like Thanos collected Infinity Stones. But that doesn’t come close to explaining the scope of his legendary performance.
Hundred Acre just went 6-for-6 on perfect releases across the entire 2021 vintage. Woodbridge has nearly three times more perfect 100-point scoring wines than the Montreal Canadiens have Stanley Cups. He’s THE California cult wine CHAMPION! The G.O.A.T.
The G.O.A.T. has been herding up prime vineyards across Napa Valley, and his most recent acquisition is posed to further solidify his legacy. Last year, he was thrilled to purchase the very estate that birthed this red blend!
It’s easy to understand why even Woodbridge was enthralled with Madrigal’s Napa Valley property - the 2021 Tres Tesoro Estate Red, a delectable blend led by Tempranillo, and Petite Sirah (the variety that put Madrigal on the map), shows what prime Napa real estate is truly capable of in a stellar vintage.
Incredibly rich, concentrated black plummy fruit action here. Tannins that glide over the tongue like a feather. Acidity that adds just enough spark to dazzle the palate. A cornucopia of dried herbs and wood spices (do people still say “cornucopia”? If not, we’re bringing it back!). It’s classic Napa Valley, it’s all here, and the potential of Madrigal’s estate plots is on full, dazzling display.
Our verdict after sipping this one: Madrigal clearly knows what’s up when it comes to PV, and Jayson Woodbridge clearly has a good thing on his hands now. No wonder he said “I watched the vineyard at Larkmead Lane corner for 30 years. I have been seriously looking at Madrigal for several years. This is some of the best ground in the valley.”
THIS OFFER is your chance to get your hands on it, with a whopping 65% discount - is there a more compelling way to experience why THAT GUY felt compelled to buy THAT VINEYARD? Nope!
