Fresh as a daisy from the EPIC 2023 vintage?! Many of you have asked when Frisson was coming back and do we have more (sadly it sells out every time). Well, today’s the day.

There’s insane HYPE around 23s and you can see and taste for yourselves now what The Wine Independent means: “As the fruit began rolling in across the valley, there were whispers of a ‘once in a lifetime’ vintage. Having tasted hundreds of 2023 barrel samples by now and comparing these to all Napa vintages I’ve tasted going back through the 1960s, they might just be right.”

If you’re the type who loves those flashy Napa reds but doesn’t want to shell out big bucks for a Tuesday night bottle, this is your jam.

A huge reason for the success of this wine comes from the winemaker, Kevin Morrisey. You know him as the first American winemaker to work at Petrus(!), but also from Ehlers Estate, Etude, Erikson & Caradin, and Stags’ Leap Winery. An impressive resumé, no doubt.

Comprised of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Merlot, and that magic dollop of 7% Petit Verdot, all sourced from Toucher Vineyards near Rutherford, it yields GOBS of blue and red fruit. Cherry compote, dark chocolate, red plums, and cassis for days. Just electrified with a ripe core of fruit and sweet bakery scents - like a room filled with mixed berry galettes or something. A little pencil lead and savory herbs with some toasty rich oak, too.

Wow… just wow.

Absolute madness at this price! A true crowd-pleaser in every sense, and one we are scooping up by the caseload for ourselves here. Not much to go around on a quiet Tuesday, so if you’re reading this - make it yours.
