Little Big Wine
Today’s juicy, bold 2009 Varietals Petite Sirah is a budget-friendly wine that delivers great value - at a very low price.
Fans of Petite Sirah will find this wine to show great balance. This is no heavy-handed Petite but it does still have complexity and plenty of fruit.
A fantastic wine to enjoy with a hearty meai, we’ll be enjoying a few bottles now, while laying a few down for BBQ season.
Pair this very food-friendly wine with a lovely flank state with a sweet teriyaki marinade.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep and dark purple, concentrated from the core to the edge. When swirled, the wine leaves behind chubby, wine-stained tears. |
---|---|
Smell: | Fragrant and lush, with the perfect balance of bright fruit and dark, heady, earthy aromas. As the wine opens up, it also reveals black raspberry, dark berry compote, cigar box and graphite. |
Taste: | Very well balanced, lead by blackberry and stewed plums. These are tempered against casis and espresso. Body is cool, soft and light-weight. This easy-drinking wine coats the palate with soft tannins. |
Finish: | Very long and deeply flavorful with long sustained dark fruit flavors. Gradually, a mineral dryness puckers the lips and cheeks. |
