Fortress of Greatness
Truly a fantastic wine, this stunning wine took our tasting panel by storm.
A bold, concentrated and elegant wine, today’s 2007 Super Sonoman Meritage comes very highly recommended. Especially at today’s 45% off price.
This is a lovely and balanced blend, with each varietal playing together in harmony. The Cabernet Franc and the Malbec provide great structure, while the Cabernet Sauvignon provides deep flavor and elegance.
Pair this very flexible wine with anything from lamb burgers, rosemary lamb, turkey lasagna, pot roast, spaghetti bolognese or a pepper-crusted grilled t-bone steak.
Deep crimson with a brilliant maroon hue at the core, fading to fine, pink translucent edges. Weighty when swirled, this wine is fast-settling. After it settles, tall, thing legs run slowly down the glass wall.
Led by an initial, heady rush of blackberry, brown spice, black olive, nutmeg, and subtle clove. Once decanted a dark fruit medley greets your senses, accompanied by black cherry, red plum and baked apples.
This Meritage is juicy, quickly drying and smooth. Primary flavors showcase unsweetened dried cranberry and black cherry. As the wine begins to breathe, secondary flavors of black olive, earl grey tea and bing cherry emerge.
Pleasant dark fruit and fine integrated tannins make for a very long, soft and flavorful finish.
What the Winery Says
The 2007 Meritage is a combination of Three Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The wine is Purple red in color with a purple rim. The aromatics express perfumed aromas of ripe black raspberry, roast coffee and flowers with a hint of tobacco. On the palate the wine exhibits terrific black currant fruit, licorice, incense, and subtle smoke with a voluptuous mouth feel showing velvety texture with sweet tannin and impressive depth.; there’s a slightly exotic character to the stone fruit flavors, coupling the smoky oak and bitter chocolate flavors. The bright acidity and silky tannins should allow this wine to cellar for a decade or more.
Oak Aging: 30 months in 100% New French Oak
Production: Limited release of 300 cases
About the Winery
The diverse geology of Sonoma County and its topography have made it the ideal location to make world class wine for years but if you were looking for an elegant, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon however, the choice was easy, go to the Napa Valley. We bring you another choice, Super Sonoman Wine.
We discovered a series of micro vineyards on the slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains above the Russian River Valley, sitting at altitudes from 900 feet to 1500 feet above sea level. The vineyards are almost always out of the fog and reap the rewards of warm nurturing sunshine. It’s a place where the cool air of the ocean pours in at night during the ripening months of the summer, lending to exceptional hang time, thus aiding in the physiological development of well balanced, ripe fruit.
We have fulfilled our original vision through hard work and the desire to create a memorable wine experience that we hope you’ll share with family and friends for years to come.

The diverse geology of Sonoma County and its topography have made it the ideal location to make world class wine for years but the grapes that are most often associated with the region have been Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel to name a few.
If you were looking for an elegant, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon however, the choice was easy, go to the Napa Valley. Chris and Super Sonoman are now bringing wine lovers another choice.
