Enoch brings us this stunning Sauvignon Blanc from the heart of Stags Leap today, at a price you would be hard pressed to find A GLASS of such classy juice anywhere in Napa. A whopping 98 POINTS from Galloni should seal the deal immediately. Truly exceptional, and it puts almost every other example to shame. Yes, even the $3000 stuff from Screaming Eagle.

This custom school label is made at the Napa Valley College Estate Winery to support this vastly popular public institution’s ever-expanding educational programs. Over the last few years they’ve pushed to elevate their wine program to attract new talent, and making standout wines to sell is a core part of the strategy.

But this isn’t made by some shoemaker students learning the ropes. While they hang in the wings to watch and learn, the winemaker is David Nakaji. A seasoned winemaker/consultant, David honed his craft at prestigious houses like BV Winery in Rutherford and Sebastiani Winery in Sonoma, and now works with wineries across Napa, Sonoma, and the Central Coast.

Sauv Blanc sourced entirely from Stags Leap District is a rare sight. You can only find a handful of SBs with that AVA on the label. And this could be the best of the bunch.

It’s crafted with zero oak, fermented in stainless steel, and finished briefly in amphorae. This elegant process allows the pure, vibrant character of the fruit to shine through, creating a wine with an incredible sense of place. It’s a fantastic and unique expression, brimming with tropical fruit - pomelo, pineapple and starfruit - plus heaps of minerality. With bright acidity and an incredible finish this is a complete wine, and absolutely unmatched at $20.

Every bottle of this absolutely delicious Sauvignon Blanc’s proceeds today are being donated to Napa Valley College to help fund and support public education for wine professionals.
