Mission Codename Very cherry
Operative favorite returns with their Monument Tree Pinot.
Can’t blame Wine Enthusiast making it an Editors’ Choice either, indeed “begs for another sip.”
Now, for the uninitiated, Meyer Family is a super cool, in-the-know winery. You might recognize Justin Meyer as the co-founder of SILVER OAK. After Justin’s passing in 2002, the family settled up north but set their sights on making outstanding wine from Anderson Valley, Oakville, and Yorkville Highlands.
Over half of a vineyard that adorns labels by the select few like Copain, Drew, Failla, and Twomey is our love letter to you, dear Operatives. We’ve stashed the cases we want for ourselves, so there is only so much to go around!
To say this wine is ‘enjoyable’ is like saying dropping the kids off with grandma on your way to vacation to Cabo is ‘nice’. Immensely satisfying in every way! Pure, elegant fruit - blackberry, red cherry, cola, and lush forest floor tones. This is truly perfection in textbook Pinot! Make sure you grab one for every weeknight in the foreseeable future.
Another absolute no-brainer if you love Pinot Noir. And the same word of caution, as you see these sell out abruptly, so treat yourself and do it quickly!
92 Points, Editors’ Choice – Wine Enthusiast “This wine opens with fragrant aromas of roses and violets, red plum, plum skin and forest floor. The palate then reveals more layers with flavors of cacao, tree bark and an underlying herbaceousness that all complement those fruits and florals. Smooth, fine-grained tannins give the wine a lightness and lift; the finish is a lengthy one and begs for another sip.”
