So even when you tear open the package and realize what you scored, you won’t know the source of the fruit. If you know the games people play in Napa, then you can make a strong guess as to which vineyard might be targeted here.

100% of the fruit comes from one of Napa’s most coveted sites. Not 70% or 90% - the Full Monty. This location routinely pumps out $250+ wines with 100-point scores. And if you don’t price the wine correctly, you don’t get to play the game… Another clue for those who dig puzzles, one of the names rhymes with “stocking-stuffer” – it’s a name you would NEVER see anywhere near this price point - ‘tis the season after all!

The winery itself, you are familiar with. Beautifully packaged with a stamped metal insignia and a long-shouldered, slender-shaped bottle silhouette.

A fair amount of love from the critics, though we can’t be specific, scores are strong, a ciphered tasting note reads: “An incredibly elegant, balanced flagship blend… It roars with powerful notes of crème de cassis, plum preserves, and blueberry pie… a silky, polished mouthfeel, and impressive tannins… stellar… full-bodied, richly tannic… fully ripe, with a long, velvety finish… plenty of freshness, long and savory.
