Mission Codename Line up

My Pinot colony, fall in line and meet your new Queen! If you fancy yourself even somewhat of a Pinot person, you MUST do yourself a favor and lock down some of our latest Anthill offering.

94 points and from International Wine Review who proclaimed it a “total knockout” and “simply gorgeous”. Vinous scored it 93+ back in the day, noting, “there is plenty to look forward to”.

Well, fast forward, and the writing’s on the wall. Or at least, Cellar Tracker.

As the reviews stack up over recent years, they all echo a similar theme:

“One of the best Pinots I have opened in a long time” “A superb Sonoma Pinot Noir” “Drinking very well and will likely improve even more with a few additional years of age”

And while it’s a fair value at $65, it’s a straight up no-brainer at our price today.

If you’re hip to the Pinot game, you know Anthill Farms. And perhaps you remember the recent Store Takeover we did. Today we’re back with a fresh offering from this acclaimed producer - and the store has been freshly re-populated with MORE Anthill offerings today!

If you aspire to be hip to the Pinot game and want to turn up at the next gathering of your friends with a guaranteed winner, this is your ticket to WOTN (wine of the night).

Anthill Farms is about as exclusive, underground, and avant-garde as a winery can get. Made in a taut, lean, terroir and mineral-driven style, all it takes is one sip to understand why they’re among the most coveted Pinots and Chards in the area. They exude style and terroir on a level few other Pinot-focused producers can.

The Wall Street Journal calls them out as “The Rock Stars of Pinot Noir.” Wine-searcher recently listed them among “The Best Value Sonoma Wines of 2025”.

Founders David Low, Anthony Filiberti, and Webster ‘Web’ Marquez met in 2003 working in the cellar at William Selyem. Bonding over their love of wine and Pinot Noir, a road trip to Oregon together sealed the deal. They needed to produce their own wines. Not to call attention to themselves, but to highlight the best vineyards and terroir that Sonoma and Mendocino have to offer. In 2004, they made a scant eight barrels. And the rest… is history.

But finding their wines takes effort. Most go entirely to their mailing list, with a small amount allocated to top Michelin starred restaurants like Quince, The Progress, The French Laundry, and Spruce. I spotted one in the room at the upscale Stanly Ranch resort where my in-laws just stayed - I didn’t check the price but would be shocked if it was under $75 given the prices I saw at Gavel, the “provisions” store, where a single bar of French soap tipped $30. Which is close to our price for a single bottle of this magnificent single vineyard Pinot.

Approaching a decade of age this shows an incredible freshness, rich with deep, ripe red fruit at its core. It weaves a tapestry of Earl Gray tea, cardamom, lavender, and baking spice into a tapestry of flavor that carries into a dreamy finish. “Simply gorgeous” sums it up perfectly, and it’s in a league of its own at our price today.

It’s yours for the taking, while it lasts! And remember to venture into the store for a refresh on more Pinots (plus a Cab and a fantastic “mixed reds”) from Anthill.

94 Points – International Wine Review “Anthill Farms Hawk Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir is absolutely brilliant in 2017. It immediately opens up with attractive aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate, ripe plum and blood orange which are coupled with nuances of sassafras, dried spice and earthy scents adding even further complexity. On the palate this is simply gorgeous, with an elegant texture and beautiful pure red fruits laced with earthy flavors that converge into the long finish. This is a total knockout and should easily go on to impress over the course of the next decade.”

93+ Points – Vinous “This is another strong set of wines from Anthill Farms. The 2017 Pinot Noir Hawk Hill Vineyard is powerful and tightly wound, although still very much within the mid-weight style favored here. Dark red and purplish fruit, lavender, spice menthol and high-toned aromatics give the Hawk Hill its slightly dark, savory profile. The sinewy tannins need time to soften, but there is plenty to look forward to. Drink 2021-2032.”
