Mission Codename O Juliet, where art thou?
APPY FRIDAY doesn’t need to end in tragedy; as long as you secure at least one or two bottles, your bounty will be boundless.
Because Romeo is BACK. But sorrow awaits if you miss this DOUBLE 96-point blockbuster from the one and only Julian Fayard.
And let me tell you a little something. Having been to both the Melka and Thomas Rivers Brown tastings for PNV last year, we can safely say this drinks very similarly to MANY of those big $200+ wines for a fraction of the price. No wonder it racks up the big scores each year.
Of course, not a surprise since Julien Fayard himself is one of the masters of Cabernet. His wines can easily earn you a Wine of The Night “WOTN” at any gathering. With a resume that includes Lafite Rothschild, Smith Haut Lafitte, Melka, Quintessa, Realm, and his much-loved Covert Estate that’s no surprise. But the price here is far removed from any of those names, while the quality remains quite in line with what you’ve come to expect from the Jedi-master winemaker.
Robert Parker famously labeled them “one of my favorite wineries. A true gem of Napa Valley.”
But you don’t need Bob to tell you that. Or some crusty wine critic to guide your hand.
Heck, just check out the countless reviews/photos in our Facebook group and you’ll see the proof. Every time we offer a BV wine a mad stampede strains our servers and our warehouse team starts giving us side eye.
Rich and round, just how you like ‘em. With loads of blackberry preserves, boysenberry jam, and sweet violets. A smattering of mulled spices, vanilla-laced tobacco leaf. Fruit comes from top vineyards across Rutherford, Oakville, and St. Helena. Oh, and did you mention the price we got? You have too see it to believe it…
But please do make this yours before it’s too late - “parting is such sweet sorrow” as the saying goes, and this wine will depart from our site forever in a few hours, we’re guessing…
96 Points – Wine Enthusiast “An inviting floral note in the aroma leads to beautiful cherry and berry flavors and an agreeable, moderately tannic texture in this full-bodied but approachable wine. It shows more complexity with each sip and ends with a lingering finish. Best from 2026-2036.”
96 Points – The Tasting Panel “This wine has a blackberry, near macerated quality that merges well with its juicy dark red fruit. Wonderfully long and delicious with a fantastic freshness balanced with developed tannins working like a well-toned muscle under the perfect skin.”
