Aaaand, it’s TIME. Deep Cover on the 2022 cult Leonetti Cab. This will go FAST! Speed reading required because this will go fast at the BEST PRICE ANYWHERE. We’ll keep it brief either way, because, well, it’s Leonetti, baby!

Wine Advocate defines these wines as “Seriously rich efforts that have a perfect blend of power and finesse, with gorgeously managed tannin, seamless textures, and awesome purity.” They add, “Kicking off modern-day winemaking in the Walla Walla Valley were Gary and Nancy Figgins with Leonetti Cellar in 1977 as Walla Walla’s first commercial winery. While they paved the way for top-quality Cabernet Sauvignon in the region, Gary Figgins is generally regarded as the founding father of the Walla Walla Valley wine industry.”

Washington specialist critic Owen Bargreen adds, “Ask anyone in the Washington wine industry if they recall their first bottle of Leonetti Cellar wine. I can assure you that they will have a story for you!”

It just does not get more OG than Leonetti. Nor do scores get so impressive, or pricing so real. When all is said and done, second only to Quilceda Creek perhaps, Leonetti is a Northwestern gem like no other.

97 Points – Owen Bargreen “A gorgeous effort from this slightly cooler vintage, the opulent 2022 Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon has a long way to go in the cellar. Needing about an hour in the decanter to be fully expressive, this edition is nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon with 6% Malbec blended in. Black currants and allspice combine on the nose with suggestions of cigar box, and Turkish coffee notes that all meld in the glass. The palate is generous and round with a terrific underlying verve. Gorgeous and mineral-laden, enjoy over the next twenty years. Tasted over several days. Drink 2026-2050.”
