2008 Super Tuscan
This is true Italian Super Tuscan, all the way. No overripe fruit, here. Typical of the best examples of a great Super Tuscan, this wine delivers beautiful balance and wonderfully elegant fruit flavors.
There is more acid on the palate than the nose would initially suggest, making the wine a perfect companion for most food pairings.
This beautiful and very highly recommended wine is one that our tasting panel did not want to spit out during our tasting. We recommend that you savor every last drop.
Very dark and clear, this wine shows hues of deepest crimson. At the edges, brilliant ruby catches the light when the wine is swirled.
Seductive and voluptuous with roasted beet, earthy dired mushroom, dried cherry, subtle fresh lavender, cassis and a hint of dark mahogany.
Subtle and elegant fruits, overall, with black plum skin, dried cherry, dried unsweetened cranberry, underripe blackberry.
Long, fresh and bright, with subtle fruits that tail off to subtle dried flower petals and a hint of brown spice persist. At the end, the mouth is slightly dry and the lips nicely puckered.
Enjoy this wine with a perfectly grilled New York steak smothered in mushrooms.
What the Winery Says
“Our vineyards are located in the center of the “golden triangle” of the Chianti Classico region. Through passion and experience, we have crafted our “Super Tuscan” blend, encompassing a unique combination of terroirs that capture the full essence and sophistication of the region’s best. Harvested at its prime and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months in order to obtain a balanced complexity, the wine has deep scarlet hues with purple reflections and a sumptuous bouquet of red fruit, violets, chocolate and cinnamon. The full-bodied and mouth-filing flavors sustained sweet tannins make this Toscana a perfect complement to the best dishes of traditional cuisine” Piergiorgio Castellani, Cacciata Winemaker
About the Winery
An important ally roams freely in our vineyards, located in a protected natural oasis in the center of the “golden triangle” of the Chianti Classico region - the wild boar! This friend, with its extraordinary sense of smell, selects and eats only those grapes that are perfectly ripe…at which time our harvest begins, in brisk competition with the forces of nature.
We dedicate our wines to the wild bar, a symbol and guardian of our precious and unspoiled land.
