A beautiful and deep garnet hued core with pretty ruby edges.
This delightful Sangiovese leads with dark cherry, plum, and blackcurrant. After swirling the wine gently, we also appreciated notes of dried rose and subtle blueberry.
Plum and cherry give way to earthy flavors including leather, clove, and black pepper.
This finish is not overtly fruity – instead, the wine leaves you with smooth leather and silky tannins.
We were torn between two potential pairings for this wine! Half of our tasting panel favored a pasta primavera loaded with fresh artichokes, olives, and roasted bell peppers; the other half was dreaming of a lamb burger with a side of polenta topped with sautéed mushrooms. Agent Red suggests that you try both.

- Vintage Summary
- The 2010 vintage of Sangiovese is a very smooth and beautiful wine sourced from Speedy Creek Vineyards in the Knights Valley of northeastern Sonoma County. The wine spent up to 15 months in Hungarian and American oak barrels, 25% of which were new oak.
- Tasting Notes
- This medium body Sangiovese is fruity with flavors of dark plum along with hints of blueberry and strawberry that linger on the palate, with aromatics of the fruit along with oak and a bit of cinnamon and clove spice.
- Serving Suggestions
- This wine pairs very well with many Italian dishes with a red or white sauce, grilled salmon, rabbit or rosemary chicken as well as roasted meats and vegetables.

About the Winery
Winemaker Tom Meadowcroft
My passion for wines comes from my experiences growing up, working and traveling in Europe and the United States. Early in life, I started my journey in winemaking by working the harvest of 1979 in Bordeaux. Later in life, I worked at wineries in Washington and Napa, attended UC Davis and Napa College, and then became a vineyard manager focused on sustainable farming and environmental advocacy. Managing dozens of properties for the top wineries in Napa and Sonoma taught me the principles of winegrowing and gave me a vision for the kinds of wines that I make today.
Meadowcroft Wines are my signature reserve wines that are vineyard designated, expressing the best each appellation has to offer. Our family name, Meadowcroft, means the fertile field on the meadow…a garden that has been carefully nurtured over time. Our hallmark “honeybee” on the label symbolizes our hard work, the journey of mastering a discipline, and the process of transforming grapes from single vineyards into outstanding wines.
