Mission Codename Queen's PS!
Carol Shelton – BONUS ROCKPILE PS!
Why? Because:
🍷 They have quickly risen in popularity to become one of our most requested wineries lately.
🍷 We caught their inventories at rock bottom without a single wine long enough to last the day.
🍷All are too yummy to pick one over another, so we’ll be moving through them as they sell out.
Giveaways for the quality and complexity that you can always count on with Carol’s winemaking…
Especially her ever-so-beloved Rockpile Reserves! And this being a good eight years young on the vintage has really helped mellow those monster tannins down to a sweet submission. There’s a ton of fruit left in there to paint the walls of your palate with, no doubt. It, dare we say, has shed its youth and developed this rarely seen for a Petite - elegance - that leaves a finish that goes a minute plus with plush nuances of a wild berry basket baked into a scrumptious pie, with a dallop of crème fraiche to boost.
It’s our/your day. Arguably the greatest Sonoma Cabernet value you’ll ever come across. The price tag you see here are the lowest today, tomorrow, basically anytime they will ever be.
We really don’t have the space here to list all Carol Shelton’s accolades. And surely not enough of this wine to waste more time. But know this - she’s a true legend. A few noteworthy ones include The André Tchelistcheff Award in 1993, Winemaker of the Year by Press Democrat in 1999, San Francisco Chronicle in 2005, and NorthBay biz in 2022 and 2023.
For this crazy price, a wow wine indeed, the score just does not do it justice. Going, going…
90 Points – Wine Spectator “Burly in structure and intense, with rustic blackberry, crushed rock and smoked anise flavors that build tension toward firm tannins. Best after 2021. 208 cases made.”
