Mission Codename Ah Zee Germans!

One of the most compelling examples of the Rheingau we have EVER tasted. A DRY GG before GG’s were a thing!!

This Riesling really does deliver it all and at a youthful 13 years old compared to the 600+ year history of the winery that made it. And the fact that we’re offering it at 75% off?? You’d be crazy to pass this one up. We sure didn’t.

At some point in our wine journey, we all get bit by the ‘Wine-Bug’. For Agent Noir, our Curation Chief, it was a day of tasting nothing but German rieslings. The styles, the vineyards, the complexity. It was after that day he knew this was his industry. So it wasn’t at all surprising to us when he went after this wine.

This wine delivers it all.

You want history? One of the oldest producers in the Rheingau, check!

You want age potential? Check!

You want the perfect balance of fruit, minerality, and acidity? Check!

This isn’t a Riesling you want to pass up at this humbling price. You can get 3 minimum and age them according to your likeness.

“We give our wines time to mature. They are traditionally among the most storable wines of the Rheingau. We cordially invite you to enjoy our individual Rieslings, which are characterized by their location and harmony.” - Familie Lergenmüller

90 Points – Antonio Galloni’s Vinous

“Subtle honeysuckle aromas are complicated by notes of hyacinth and lime. Pure, polished peachy fruit is nicely framed by a refined minerality. Delicate and quite long.”

90 Points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

“Deeply, richly peachy, incorporating the offsetting bitterness of that fruit’s pits… there is an alluringly creamy texture and a soothing, vanilla-, honey-, and salted caramel-tinged finish of impressive persistence. This may well improve with some years in bottle and ought to be worth following for at least 15 years. Drink 2011-2026.”
