2011 California Coastal Series Zinfandel
Ginny Zin Zin
We are thrilled, today, to bring you another fantastically affordable wine from our good friends at Healdsburg Ranches Winery. Their 2011 California Coastal Series Zinfandel is an easygoing and very approachable wine that one member of our tasting panel called, “an affordable Zin that could just be this summer’s daily drinker.”
With this wine, Winemaker Virginia Marie Lambrix shows off her skill at developing wines for any budget. While her high-dollar single vineyard wines are incredible, her budget-friendly wines really exceed our expectations for such well-priced treats.
Enjoy this Zinfandel with your favorite summer BBQ, or sip it all on its own. Just be sure to buy early. We got our hands on every last bottle that we could and we will likely sell out before midnight Pacific.
Deep ruby red hues through the translucent core of the wine, with pretty ruby red edges.
Dark black cherry, black plum, cassis, braised fig, braised plum, subtle tobacco, dried fall leaves and sweet spice.
Light across the front palate, this wine gradually settles onto the tongue, delivering flavors that almost perfectly mimic the nose.
Slightly drying, with grip at the edges of the palate. Medium-long with earth and spice persisting the longest.
Enjoy with pepper-crusted pork chops for a truly perfect compliment to this lighter-styled Zinfandel.
