2010 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Chardonnay •Orsi Vineyard
California: Sonoma County: Russian River Valley
Very round and voluptuous, especially as the wine warms slightly in the glass, this fleshy, bright and complex wine is a lovely treat for any fan of more complex Chardonnay.
Bold, full on the palate and loaded with flavor, today’s wine reminds us of the Chardonnays of Rombauer, Pahlmeyer, or Far Niente - at a far lower price. Especially when you consider today’s Buy One, Get One price.
Today’s 2010 VML Winery Russian River Valley Chardonnay is lush, full on the palate and loaded with flavor, all wrapped lovingly inside a velvet smooth container of soft fleshiness. Where a Rombauer may present a little too much oak for some people, this wine really holds the oak in great balance.
A real treat, today’s wine is offered to our white wine fans with our heartiest recommendation. Especially at today’s Buy One, Get One for $0.07 price!
Lovely light golden hues with perfect clarity and even coloration from the heart of the wine to the edge of the glass.
Lush and layered with Golden Delicious apple, green apple, orange blossom, hazelnut, comice pear, vanilla and creamed honey.
Soft and round with flavors of Meyer lemon, lemon curd, bosc pear, Granny Smith apple, crème brûlée and hints of mineral and tropical fruit, particularly at the end.
Very long, dynamic and filled with flavor, this wine leads with sweet and tart fruits that gradually give way to vanilla, flinty mineral and mixed tropical fruits that sustain to the very end.
Enjoy this wine with Agent Red’s all time favorite dish from Bon Appetit Magazine, the delicious Roasted Chili Citrus Chicken Thighs with Mixed Olives and Potatoes (http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2010/10/roasted_chili_citrus_chicken_thighs_with_mixed_olives_and_potatoes#ixzz2RtqmkBMl.
