Mission Briefing

Codename:

Holy Pinot, Agent Red!

This is an extraordinary wine, and for the price, we offer it to you with our heartiest of recommendations!

Today’s Bruce Wayne Winery 2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes not from Batman’s alter ego, but from one of our all-time favorite wine producers, the founders of the Starry Night Winery. Named for Starry Night partners Bruce Walker and Wayne Hansen, their Bruce Wayne wines are premium wines at what are, in our opinion, very low prices. We won’t tell the winery to raise their prices if you don’t.

Today’s Pinot Noir drinks like a high-dollar Pinot from some of the lofty ultra-premium producers of the region. Littorai and Siduri come to mind when enjoying this plush and delicious wine. What also comes to mind is the fact that today’s wine is about half the price of those others.

Saving you money and finding you incredible wines brings a big smile to our faces, dear Operative. Please be sure to stock up on today’s really extraordinary wine.

Tasting Profile

Look:

Very dark and very pretty with rich garnet hues from edge through the translucent heart of the wine.

Smell:

Super juicy and sweet, with Bing cherry leaping from the glass. Wild strawberry, mixed berry compote, smoky leather, light spice of nutmeg and black pepper round out the aromas.

Taste:

Very soft on entry, the plush mouth feel ushers in delicious cherry, dried plum, dried fig, subtle black tea, pomegranate and very subtle black pepper.

Finish:

Long and elegant with plush medium tannin. Flavors diminish slowly.

Pairing:

Enjoy this very flavorful wine with grilled lamb with rosemary or prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.
