Mission Codename …out of the park!
It is an APPY Friday INDEED!
At 97 Points, this is ONE OF THE TOP WINES OF THE VINTAGE. FOR LESS THAN $90!!!
Alessandria… If you know the name, you are already checking out.
If you don’t know, here’s what’s up: Wine Advocate proclaims, “I cannot recommend this estate enough for value-wine seekers and collectors alike. There is something for every Nebbiolo-loving palate in this portfolio, and all these wines hit the ball straight out of the park.”
Barolo expert Antonio Galloni points out, “Fratelli Alessandria is one of Piedmont’s under-the-radar jewels”
Their wines have graced Jeb Dunnuck’s Top 100 Wines, the reviewer confessing of the single-cru Gramolere that, “I would love to have several bottles stashed away to check in over the years.”
There is more critical praise. HEAPS more! And every time we offer their wines they set a new record for selling-out!!!
Need more? Consider this… Jeb Dunnuck gave exactly 9 wines 97 Points or above for Barolo’s 2022 vintage. And NONE OF THEM scored higher than a 98!
That puts it alongside heavyweights like Elio Altare Unoperuno (97, $420), Gaja Spress (98, $600), and Giacosa Falletto Vigna le Rocche (97, If you have to ask…)…
FOR UNDER $90!!!
Oh, it also happens to be the best Barolo we tasted in a while. Pristine raspberry fruit laced with rose petals, cardamom, wild herbs, and balsam – all held in a lean and sinewy frame cut through with tightly woven tannins and saline minerality. It finishes meaty, spice, and super complex – a wine to ponder many bottles of over the coming decade plus.
Don’t tell Jeb Dunnuck… At this price, we should all “have several bottles stashed away to check in over the years.”
Grab them now. Thank us later!
97 Points – Jeb Dunnuck “Pouring a slightly deeper ruby color, the 2022 Barolo Gramolere is initially a bit more inward but opens beautifully in the glass. Aromas of grenadine, raspberries, crushed flowers, sweet sage, and fresh earth lead into a palate that is vibrant and electric. Medium-bodied, it shows broader depth and structure in the range, with ripe tannins and a saline, mineral edge that carries through the finish. Notes of blood orange and apricot emerge as it opens, adding further complexity. This special wine has tremendous energy and aging potential. Drink 2027-2045.”
