What a wonderful start to July! Today’s 2011 Portalupi Bianco is fantastic. This lovely, budget-friendly wine is the perfect white for a summertime soirée. It is food-friendly, bright, complex and delicious.
This blend of 47% Sauvignon Blanc, 46% Chardonnay and 7% Muscat Canelli shows great balance while also delivering enough complexity to make the wine very interesting.
Ideal at somewhere between cooler temperature and room temperature, this approachable wine improves as you spin and sip, allowing it to aerate and to warm slightly.
Highly recommended for any fan of delicious white wines.
Lovely and glinting with golden hues that maintain even color from heart to edge.
An intriguing melange of earthy minerality, wet forest floor and bright fruit of pineapple and star fruit with jasmine flower, lime leaf and roasted anise.
Firm peach, young apricot, pineapple, Granny Smith apple, star fruit, lemon verbena and a hint of minerals and asparagus.
Fruits evolve on the palate, moving from sweet to dry with chalky mineral and a lovely blood orange flavor.
Enjoy this very flexible wine with grilled shrimp with ground salt & pepper, or seared salmon on baby spinach.

About the Winery
Portalupi wine began many years ago in a small northern California town where Tim and Jane first met as children. Now a husband and wife team, they have traversed the gamut of the premium wine business for some nearly 30 years. They started Portalupi in 2002 and deliver exquisitely crafted wines worthy of their generation’s history of Italian winemaking.
