Mission Codename Cali Monastrell
Mourvedre, one of the most expensive grape varietals of southern France, thrives in Amador County. Today’s fun and approachable Mourvedre comes to us by way of a collaboration between professional golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez and Robledo Family Winery.
Chi Chi’s Dinner and a Mourvedre is a budget-friendly wine that is a delightful companion for a wide variety of food pairings. We’ll enjoy our sample bottles over the July 4th weekend with BBQ chicken and spareribs. Classic Spanish fare would also be a great choice.
A blend of 94% Mourvedre and 6% Nebbiolo, this Chipatchi Vineyard (so named for Chi Chi and his wife, Pat) blend is a delightful and light-hearted wine that won’t land you in a sand trap!
