Christopher Creek Winery
2007 Estate Petite Sirah Reserve
California: Sonoma County: Russian River Valley
Oh, thank heaven... for 2007!
We’ve missed Christopher Creek and we are just thrilled that they’ve come roaring back with today’s delicious Petite Sirah. This stunning 2007 Russian River Valley Reserve Petite Sirah is a big and juicy wine - from the best vintage on record in more than a decade.
Remember, Robert Parker gave the 2007 vintage a decade-high 96 points for North Coast reds. We’ve been buying up every 2007 that meets our exacting standards - and any 2007 that we show, here, can be considered a must have.
Today’s Christopher Creek Petite Sirah is an inky, concentrated, and boldly delicious wine with a plush feel and a complex yet approachable character.
This wine is very highly recommended for any fan of this fantastic varietal.
Super deep and dark. Completely opaque, inky purple with dark crimson edges.
Dark and deeply extracted, leading with darkest blackberry compote, smoked meat, dark tobacco, cocoa dust and dried earth.
Lush, condensed and dark with braised plum, braised mission fig, smoked black cherry, tobacco leaf, cocoa powder, blackberry compote and raspberry.
Dusty, semi-firm and balanced tannins are very well integrated. Dark flavors go on for ever and ever.
This big wine deserves a big companion. Enjoy with a beef tenderloin with rosemary and pearl onions, accompanied by a loaded twice-baked potato. For dessert, we’re recommending something unconventional: A natural lemon tart!
